About Me

Bill Lae
Hollywood, CA, United States
Bill Lae is an award-winning visual effects artist and Halloween Haunter. As one of Hollywood’s busiest visual effects artists, Bill worked for all the major networks and delivered his magic touch to some of TV’s top-rated shows including, The X-Files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dinosaurs, and The Outer Limits. He created BigScreamTV, a series of first-ever DVDs anyone can use to create mystifying in-home Halloween effects using a TV. He went on to create a do-it-yourself program called X-Treme Haunted House Make-Over, where he shows people how to have fun haunting the house for very little money. His love for Halloween started long before he came to Hollywood. As a child he created haunted houses in his parents’ basement. After moving to LA, he began mixing such easy-to-use technology as DVD players, computers, printers and lights with other household items to “trick out” his own house every Halloween. At last count, he had 700 trick-or-treaters. “It’s my favorite holiday,” Bill says. “I especially love amazing the hardened, media-savvy, teen-age critics. And it truly is the one time when everyone has the opportunity to give unconditionally—including candy to strangers!”
